Greatroom drywall is up.

Posted by Hello They finished hanging the drywall in both the main house and carriage house this week. We ordered the light fixtures this week and now I have to make a decision on the interior colors. They will paint the interior before they lay the hardwood floors.

Back porch ceiling was finished yesterday.

Posted by Hello They also finished the metal cap on the chimney this week.

Carriage house painting finished

Posted by Hello They have finished painting the carriage house and the shingles are on the roof. You can see the covered walkway that connects to the house has been started too.

Drywall has been hung!

Our good friends, Pam and Dennis Pratt, spent Thanksgiving with us at Oldfield. If you look closely, you can see an alligator in the water behind them. Posted by Hello

More gator pictures for Kalli

Posted by Hello Saw him on hole #5. Kalli needs to ask her mother if she would get close enough to pose for a picture with this guy.

Gators are everywhere on hole #5

Posted by Hello This guy was slinking back into the water....I didn't know they go in backwards OR that they are more afraid of us than we are of them! Luckily, our house isn't close to hole # 5 either.

Framing is finished on the main house!

Posted by Hello Framing is complete on the main house and now they have begun framing the guest suite in the carriage house. Things are happening quickly now....I picked out all of the bathroom fixtures this week and met with the "Smart House" man today. I'll explain later what a "smart house" is, but it looks like we are going to have one!

Great room

Posted by Hello Great room view from the kitchen

Outhouse

Posted by Hello The carriage house will have a guest suite upstairs. This is known as the 'outhouse' to the Hunters Pointe Crowd.

Oldfield Gator (for Kalli)

Posted by Hello We saw this gator between the men's & women's tee boxes on the 11th hole. Luckily that is not close to our house at all!

Posted by Hello Now you can kinda tell what the house is going to look like. The window over the front porch will be Cindi's office.

Carriage house from back

Posted by Hello It's hard to tell what this building's gonna look like, isn't it? This picture was taken from the side porch of the house.

It's starting to take shape

Posted by Hello That's an awful lot of lumber! It is a good thing the lumber was ordered before the hurricane or we would have had trouble getting enough.

So is the carriage house.

Posted by Hello The kick-out on the left is for the golf cart.

The best spot in the master bedroom

Posted by Hello Peter is trying to claim this area of the master bedroom for his office. Cindi doesn't agree....
